Ok folks, halloumi should be rinsed before serving. If you wish it less salty soak in in cold water no longer than 30 minutes, I soak mine for 15 minutes and then taste to see if the right amount of saltyness for us. Slice into pieces, about 2 to 3 slices per half the halloumi. Also after grilling or pan frying (fry in 1 tablespoon butter till browned). Plate cheese and sqeeze fresh lemon juice over all. Enjoy. PS, My husband is the original greek cypriot from Cyprus Oh! if you want to be like a greek restaurant, pour 1/2 ounce dry wine over top, ignite and all say loudly OPA!!!!

Cheese is cheese but for the price and delivery time this Halloumi is great. Just like we used to get in Europe. Great flavor and grills easily.

Update! Apparently some commenters have identified a critical fact that escaped me, not all cheese is created equally; however, my guess is that if you are buying it from Amazon you won’t know the difference! Bottom line is that it is a great Halloumi and worked for us when we lived in Japan and could not find it. If you can’t find it locally and you love it as much as we do, the price is high but worth it. Because really cheese is cheese.
