    Nice Cookbook, August 3, 2012
I’m on my first round of the HCG diet, day 7, and lost a whopping 13 pounds so far! Since I’m on this diet plan for a total of 40 days, I searched on Amazon for HCG recipies, found this ebook, and downloaded it to my iPad. While I found the recipes quite nice, therefore the high rating I gave it, I unfortunately cannot use a majority of them on “MY” (doctor monitored) HCG plan. My HCG plan is the original HCG plan, which does not allow eating more than one type of vegetable for lunch or dinner. Many of the recipes in this book mix and match veggies. Perhaps there is another HCG diet plan that allows mixing but mine does not. But if you are looking for meal variety and your HCG diet is not as strict as mine, then this book is well worth purchasing! Happy dieting!

‘Fleshing out’ the medical aspects of hCG weight loss plans, April 12, 2013

Anne Wolfinger refreshingly doesn’t attempt to enter the hot topic of the use of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin as an adjunct to weight loss. She wisely leaves the technical aspects of that discussion to the many books by physicians and nutritionists that flood the market these days. Instead she addresses her readers as people who are already on the daily use of hCG either by sublingual spray (easily available in health food stores) or sublingual tablets or injections under the advisement of a primary care physician and offers them a very well thought out dietary approach to enhance – or rather take advantage of – the benefits of hCG in losing body fat.

The manner in which Wolfinger addresses her readers feels like `let’s chat about how to get thinner and healthier’ conversations. She feels comfortable using everyday language and buzz words and giving her readers a comfort zone that here is someone who has been done the diet alley many times and has found something that works!

There is an element of the science behind hCG that she shares, briefly but sufficient to orient the reader to what lies ahead. And the `what lies ahead’ is a three-phase plan of action to be used once hCG therapy has been initiated. Phase I: gluttony to load the body with fats (2 days, this phase!); Phase 2 – very low calorie diets to allow the hCG to resort to burning body fat for energy – testy, but she makes it doable (three to five weeks); and Phase 3 – maintenance.

This is where her book is a solid hit. She spells out dietary suggestions based on balanced nutrition, offers weekly shopping lists (to diminish the addiction of spending far too much time in the grocery store being tempted), and then sets out meals that match the goals – breakfasts, morning snack, lunches, afternoon snack, dinners – in a way that there is no repetition and a solid variety of good foods (and tasty meals) to keep the fun of the diet going. Excellent recipes follow along with the requisite taps into the Internet for finding more information.

While this dietary approach may not be for everyone, for those who under a physician’s care are able to undertake this venture with hCG this book is a healthy, fun to read adjunct to get your there! Grady Harp, April 13

This is a wonderful cookbook. A real simple and very tasty guide for anyone following the hCG guidelines. This book is filled with wonderful meals for all types of dietary
choices. This book contains delicious meals for meat lovers, fish and chicken enthusiasts and vegetarian. Both hCG dieters and their family members will enjoy the simple
and satisfying recipes. My husband and I are both following the hCG protocol. Our three children (teens and early 20’s) eat and enjoy the same food we prepare daily – making this book a must for family meals! This book has taken all the hassle out of shopping, and cooking for us all. The meals are easy to make ahead, for the teens on the run. Our kids love the meals- and they are getting wonderful nutrition. My husband and I enjoy these recipes- we feel they taste more like spa food than diet food.
This book is a wonderful guide for all cooks explaining and providing answers to phase 2 and 3 meals. Thank you Anne Wolfinger for this help.
